Lady Hornets Sweep Canton

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team ran their win streak to four games after sweeping Canton on Tuesday evening.

In this four-game win streak Wellsboro has just dropped one set.

The Lady Hornets took the first two sets, 25-18, then won 25-16 for the sweep.

Junior Adelyn Frantz led Wellsboro with 11 points on 3 aces with 4 kills and a block while junior Peyton Keane scored 9 points (2 aces) and added 9 kills and 8 digs. Junior Kendall Sweet made 11 kills, senior Ellie Largey made 13 assists and scored 6 points (1 ace), senior Madison Cruttenden had 9 digs and 3 assists, and junior Jillian Mickey recorded 18 assists and 10 digs.

Junior Teagan Novinger and Keane also added blocks.

Wellsboro also swept the JV game, winning 25-22 and 25-16.

The team improves to 9-2 (7-1 NTL Large School Division). The team returns to action on Thursday against Cowanesque Valley.
