Lady Hornets Suffer Lopsided Loss To Troy; Drop 5th Straight Game

The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team dropped their fifth straight game following a 45-16 loss to Troy Wednesday.

Troy jumped out to an early 23-0 lead and increased it to 35-3 at the half. Troy held Wellsboro to just two points in the third, but were outscored 11-2 in the fourth.

Freshman Kya Lawton had 9 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Hornets. Sophomore Adelyn Frantz finished with 3 points and senior Lily Wagner and freshman Lena Rothermel scored two points each.

There was no JV game.

The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 3-9 and 1-6 in the NTL Large School Division. The team travels to Athens Friday.
