The Wellsboro Girls Wrestling team scored their first dual win of the season after doubling up Williamson, 36-18, on Tuesday.
Sophomore Isla Twoey started off with a forfeit victory at 100 lbs. After a double forfeit at 106, Williamson ran off back-to-back wins by forfeit at 112 and 118 lbs., then scored a 58 second pin at 124 to jump out to an 18-6 lead.
The Lady Hornets then took the next five bouts in a row to pick up the win.
Sophomores Rosa Sguera (130) and Katie Whitney (136) and freshman Peyton Weatherby (142) all won via forfeit to put Wellsboro in front, 24-18. After back-to-back double forfeits at 148 and 155 lbs., freshmen Riley Kilburn (170) and Phoebe Bowen (190) closed out the match with a pair of forfeits.
There was no match at 235 lbs.
Wellsboro (1-1) is back in action Thursday against Wyalusing.
