Wellsboro's Junior High Track & Field teams finished runners up to Athens in their first home meet of the season Wednesday afternoon in a quad meet.
The Athens boys won with 95 points with the Hornets taking 2nd with 58. Williamson was 3rd with 40 points and Canton was 4th with 6.
The young Lady Wildcats slightly edged the young Lady Hornets 80-72. Williamson finished 3rd with 32 points.
For the boys, Cody Tomlinson (12.29) and Aden Berg (12.53) were 2nd and 3rd in the 100m, Isaac Otbot (27.71) was 4th in the 200m, Tomlinson (58.39) won the 400m with Justin Dunlap (1:05.85) finishing 2nd, Nate Rudy (2:43.70) and William Rudy (2:44.18) were 2nd and 3rd in the 800m, William Rudy (5:43.00) took 2nd in the 1600m with Declan Borzok (5:51.11) finishing 4th, and Berg (18.46) and Dunlap (18.48) went 1-2 in the 100m hurdles.
Wellsboro won the 4x400m in 4:22.95.
Damon Boyce (5-ft) and Dunlap (4-ft, 8) were 1st and 3rd in the high jump, Boyce (14-ft, 6.75), Otbot (14-ft, 4) and Evan Rawson (13-ft, 7.25) were 2nd-4th in the long jump, Benjamin DeWitt was 3rd in the shot put (26-ft, 2) and 10th in the discus (57-ft, 2).
For the girls, Ryleigh Sporer (13.76) won the 100m, Naleyah Greenfield (31.21) was 2nd in the 200m with Nora Mickey (31.83) taking 4th, Sporer (1:06.32) took the top spot in the 400m, Serenity Harrison (8:09.80) was 7th in the 1600m, and Greenfield (20.19) and Ella Gehman (20.30) were 4th and 5th in the 100m hurdles.
Gehman (4-ft, 1) won the high jump, was 3rd in the long jump (12-ft, 8.25) and 3rd in the triple jump (27-ft, 9.25). Alyssa Bathrick (23-ft, 4.5) was 2nd in the shot put and 2nd in the discus (53-ft, 11).
The Lady Hornets won the 4x100m relay in 56.48 and was 2nd in the 4x400m relay in 5:05.06.
Both teams are back in action next Wednesday, the 22nd, against Canton, North Penn-Mansfield and Williamson.
