Hornets Take 3rd At Shepard Hills

The Wellsboro Golf team brought home their second 3rd place finish of the season Wednesday at The Club At Shepard Hills.

The Hornets shot a combined score of 340, finishing behind Towanda (311) and Athens (315). North Penn-Mansfield was 4th (345), Cowanesque Valley (359) took 5th, Wyalusing (367) placed 6th, Canton (394) finished 7th, and Sayre (400) rounded out the field in 8th.

Junior Chase Schultz led Wellsboro with a round of 83, followed by senior Syler Pietrzyk with an 84. Freshman Jackson Largey shot 86, sophomores Benjamin Jackson and Samuel Jackson both carded rounds of 87, and sophomore Case Butler finished with an 88.

The Hornets' 3rd place finish moves the team up to 14-7 (14-7 NTL) and keeps them at 3rd in the NTL. The team is back in action this afternoon in head-to-head action against Canton at Tyoga Golf Course.
