Hornets Take 1st In Tri-Match With Sayre, Wyalusing

The Wellsboro Golf team scored a pair of wins in a tri-match against Sayre and Wyalusing at Towanda Golf Club on Monday afternoon.

The Hornets shot a combined round of 171, beating the Rams by 7 strokes (178). Sayre took 3rd with 198.

Sophomore Benjamin Jackson had a low round of 40 to take medalist honors on the day. while sophomore Case Butler shot a 43. Senior Syler Pietrzyk, junior Chase Schultz and freshman Jackson Largey all had rounds of 44, and sophomore Samuel Jackson finished with a 45.

The win improves the Hornets to 19-9 (19-9 NTL) on the year. The team is back in action at home at Tyoga Golf Course on Wednesday.
