Hornets Overpower North Penn-Liberty, 10-1

Following a 3-1 loss to Towanda late last week, the Wellsboro Boys Soccer team rebounded with a 10-goal scoring barrage against North Penn-Liberty Tuesday.

"I'm super proud of the boys," head coach John Shaffer said. "10 goals with 10 different goal scorers is a testament to our team mentality. After the disappointment of Towanda, I'm proud of the boys' resilience to trust our process and keep playing."

Wellsboro outscored the Mounties 6-1 in the first half, then shut them out 4-0 in the second.

Freshman Callen Novak, junior Gabe Cuneo, sophomore Liam Stevens, junior Octavian Wyman, senior Colin Fletcher, senior Jacob Smith, freshman Cody Tomlinson, senior Dylan Tomlinson, junior Fen Moyer, and senior Zander Rachiele all scored on the evening while Cuneo (2), senior Kayden Pearson, senior Mason Brill, and Rachiele recorded assists.

The Hornets out shot North Penn-Liberty 35-3 and had a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Junior Camden Bryant made three saves in goal.

The win improves the Hornets to 3-1 (3-1 NTL). The team is back in action at Montoursville on Saturday.
