The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team made short work of Sayre Thursday afternoon, defeating the Redskins 15-0 in three innings for their second win in as many days.
The Hornets scored once in the 1st, twice in the 2nd, then exploded for 12 runs in the 3rd to close out the game.
Freshman Gabe Cuneo went 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored to lead the Hornets at the plate. Senior Cameron Owlett was 2-for-2 with an RBI and 3 runs scored, and junior Coen Tennis and sophomore Reed Richardson were both 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. Tennis homered and scored once and Richardson crossed home plate twice. Sophomore Griffin Morral and junior Max Mascho made up the Hornets' remaining 11 hits.
Freshman Gage Baltzley got the win on the mound, throwing two scoreless innings and striking out three. Junior Izaya Campbell threw the 3rd inning, allowing one hit with a walk and a strikeout.
Shaine Strickland recorded Sayre's lone hit.
Wellsboro (3-1, 3-0 NTL Large School Division) hosts undefeated Cowanesque Valley (7-0, 3-0 NTL Small School) Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
