Hornet Swim Teams Split With Towanda

The Wellsboro Swim teams split their final regular season dual meet with Towanda on Wednesday afternoon.

The girls won 47-8 while the boys fell to the Black Knights, 98-34.

For the boys, junior Max Mascho took 1st place in both the 50 Free (25.64) and the 100 Back (1:06.29).

Sophomore Wyatt Sporer captured 1st place in the 100 Breaststroke (1:18.48) and was 3rd in the 50 Free (27.17).

Freshman Austin DeShazo took home a 1st place finish in the 100 Fly (1:06.78) and was 4th in the 100 Back (1:13.23). His 100 Fly time was a district qualifying time.

Freshman Elijah Kennedy was 5th in the 100 Free (1:26.52) and 6th in the 50 Free (33.28).

Freshman Conlen Whitsell was 4th in both the 200 Free (2:55.70) and the 100 Free (1:17.87).

For the girls, senior Makenna Robbins set new PRs with 1st place finishes in the 50 Free (27.28) and the 100 Free (1:01.43).

Senior Kristina Belz took home a 1st place finish in the 100 Breaststroke (1:22.18) and was 2nd in the 50 Free (30.59).

Sophomore Piper Anderegg was 1st in both the 200 Free (2:07.43) and the 100 Fly (1:07.98), both personal bests.

Freshman Joelle Bull was 2nd in the 100 Free (1:09.18) and 6th in the 50 Free (32.10) (new PR).

The girls also combined to swim the 200 Free Relay, finishing 1st with a new PR of 1:53.97.

Both teams will be back in action at the District IV Championships later this month.
