Hornet Golfers Down Canton In Head-To-Head Play

The Wellsboro Golf team scored a head-to-head victory over Canton Thursday afternoon at Tyoga Golf Course, 169-196.

Five of the six Hornet golfers shot rounds of 45 or below in the 9-hole match. Sophomores Samuel Jackson and Case Butler led the team with rounds of 41 and 42, respectively, while senior Syler Pietrzyk, junior Chase Schultz and sophomore Benjamin Jackson all shot rounds of 43, and freshman Jackson Largey carded a 46.

The win improves the team to 15-7 (15-7 NTL). The team is back in action Tuesday as they make their way over to River Valley Country Club to face off against Cowanesque Valley and Towanda.
