Hornet Boys Over Power Troy In 14-0 Win

The Wellsboro Boys Soccer team went on a soccer spree against Troy Monday afternoon, defeating the Trojans 14-0.

The Hornets scored 8 goals in the first half and then added six more in the second.

Junior Gabe Cuneo recorded a hat trick and freshman Cody Tomlinson. senior Mason Brill and sophomore James Doughtie scored two goals each. Senior Kayden Pearson, sophomore Liam Stevens, sophomore Maddon Mascho, senior Zander Rachiele, and junior Xavier Lecker added solo goals.

Stevens assisted on three goals, Brill added a pair of assists, and Tomlinson, Pearson, Lecker, freshman Callen Novak and junior Brayden Benjamin added single assists.

The Hornets took 44 shots on goal in the game while holding the Trojans to two shots, both of which were saved by senior Kayden Rogers.

Wellsboro also had a 12-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The win is the Hornets' third in a row, improving the team to 9-1-2 (8-1-1 NTL). The team is back in action Wednesday as they welcome Towanda, the only loss of the season, to town.
