Hornet Bocce Ball Team Edges Troy In Golden Frame For Senior Night Win

The Wellsboro Bocce Ball team rallied after a first game defeat to beat Troy 2-1 on Senior Night Wednesday.

The Trojans doubled up the Hornets 8-4 in the first game. After Wellsboro took an early 1-0 lead, Troy went on an 8-0 run before the Hornets scored 3 points in the 7th frame. Wellsboro then rallied to take the second game, 2-1.

Troy jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first frame, but then the Hornets pulled a reversal and did what Troy did to them in the first game. Wellsboro went on a 7-0 run, scoring a combined six points in the 3rd-5th frame. Troy stopped the scoring barrage with a one-point 6th frame, however Wellsboro tacked on three more points in the 7th to close out the win.

In the Golden Frame, the Hornets scored 2 points to claim the overall victory.

Wellsboro finishes the season 4-2.
