Four Hornets Compete In District Doubles Tournament

Wellsboro fielded two doubles teams in Saturday's District IV Boys Tennis doubles tournament at Williamsport.

The team of senior Luke Rothermel and junior Mason Brill made it to the quarterfinal round before suffering defeat at the hands of top-seeded Danville, 6-1, 6-3. Rothermel and Brill started the tournament with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Muncy's Michael Howard and Aiden Murphy. They advanced to take on Lewisburg's Luke Azeredo and Colby Jacob. Rothermel and Brill won 6-1, 6-0.

The team of sophomore RJ Doughtie and freshman James Doughtie dropped their 1st round match to Lewisburg's Canyon Swartzentruber and Henry Heintzelman, 6-3, 6-2.
