Young Lady Hornets Open Season With 2-1 Win Over NEB

Wellsboro's Junior High Volleyball team started their season at home Saturday morning, knocking off Northeast Bradford 2-1.

After dropping the first set 25-17 the young Lady Hornets rallied to win the second set 25-22, then dominated the third set 15-9 to come home victorious.

Reese Eckart had 3 kills while Taeber Rodriguez added 2 kills. Lex Dunning and Rachel Weaver added assists.

Alayna Richards had 6 points and 4 aces, Weaver led the team with 9 points (5 aces), and Emma McConaghy had 5 points and an ace.

The B team dropped both sets (26-24 and 25-16).

Wellsboro returns to action on Wednesday at Cowanesque Valley.
