The Wellsboro Bocce Ball team wrapped up their second season of competition with a 2-0 sweep of Troy during Senior Night on Thursday, January 30.
The win snaps a two-game losing skid and gives the Hornets a 4-2 record on the season.
In game one Wellsboro took the early lead with one point in the first frame. They quickly added 3 in the second and another point in the third to lead 5-0. Troy got a point back in the fourth frame, however Wellsboro went on a 6-0 run over the next three frames to win 11-1.
In the second game, the Hornets had a 2-0 lead after the first two frames before Troy cut the lead in half in the third frame. Wellsboro again went on a streak to close out the game, this time they scored seven straight points to win 10-1.
“It was great to get a win on senior night," said head coach Jacob Rogers. "We had a great regular season and the players continued to get better each match. They always displayed a positive attitude."
