Junior Syler Pietrzyk finished 3rd overall at the District IV Class 2A Golf Championships at White Deer Golf Course Wednesday.
Pietrzyk shot a four-over round of 76 to finish behind Mifflinburg's Wilson Abram (69) and Montoursville's Bryce Carey (72).
Wellsboro finished 5th overall as a team with an aggregate score of 339. Towanda took home the top spot with a combined score of 325 and followed by Mifflinburg (329). Benton and Montoursville tied for 3rd with rounds of 335.
Junior Mason Brill shot a 87, freshmen Benjamin Jackson, Samuel Jackson and Case Butler all finished with rounds of 88, sophomore Logan Johnson carded a 91, sophomore Chase Schultz shot 92, and senior Kiernen Whitsell rounded out the team with a 96.
"We had 6 kids qualify for individual districts," head coach TJ Howe said. "Syler, Mason and Chase qualified by way of season scoring average and Case, Ben and Sam qualified by shooting 88 or better yesterday. I'm proud of how they competed all season. The future looks bright for this team."
The six qualifiers will be back at White Deer on October 9.
