A goal by Northeast Bradford's Tyler Kuhn with 27 seconds remaining lifted the Panthers to a 2-1 win over Wellsboro Tuesday evening.
"We had 13 more shots on goal and increased our corner kicks by 6 compared to the first time we played," head coach Todd Fitch commented. "We also reduced their opportunities at goal. They're a good team and at the end of the game we didn't have the one stat we really wanted."
After a scoreless first half the Hornets got on the scoreboard first as junior Mason Brill converted a pass from senior David Seeling for a goal with 35:12 remaining.
Ben Ellis tied the game for the Panthers with an unassisted goal with 23:46 left to play.
Wellsboro took 15 shots to NEB's five. Both teams had 5 corner kicks apiece.
Senior Camden Tom made 4 saves in goal.
Wellsboro won the JV game 5-0 to improve to 13-0 on the season. Freshman Liam Stevens had a hat trick in the game, scoring twice in the first half and once in the second. Sophomores Xavier Lecker and Connor Hartman had the other two second-half goals. Sophomore Fen Moyer assisted on Stevens' first goal.
The loss drops the Hornets to 10-4-1 (8-2-1 NTL). The team is back in action Thursday evening against Williamson for Senior Night. The JV game will begin at 5:30 with Senior Night festivities scheduled for approximately 6:45 p.m.
