The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team rallied from a first set loss to defeat Athens 3-1 on Thursday for their 7th win in a row.
Athens edged out the Lady Hornets 27-25 in the first set. Wellsboro then controlled the rest of the match, winning 25-11, 25-13 and 25-18.
Sophomore Adelyn Frantz recorded 15 kills and made 2 blocks to led the Lady Hornets while junior Blake Eckart added 11 kills and scored 13 points (5 aces). Junior Madison Cruttenden made 27 digs, sophomore Peyton Keane scored 19 points (2 aces) and made 10 kills, sophomore Kendall Sweet scored 12 points (4 aces), senior Taylor Main recorded 20 assists and junior Ellie Largey had 12 assists.
Eckart and Keane also recorded 16 digs apiece with sophomore Teagan Novinger making 2 blocks.
Wellsboro won the JV game 2-0 (25-17 and 30-28).
The win improves the Lady Hornets to 12-2 (8-1 NTL). The team is back in action tomorrow at the Kane Tournament.
