The Wellsboro JV Boys Soccer team faced off against New Covenant Academy in a stand-alone game last evening, coming home with a 2-1 win to keep their record perfect.
Freshman Gage Baltzley put the Hornets on the scoreboard first with 15:14 left in the first half off an assist from sophomore Xavier Lecker, however New Covenant tied the game up with 8:35 left in the opening half.
The score remained tied until freshman Daniel Taboada sent an unassisted shot past the New Covenant keeper with 18:01 left in the game.
The team improves to 7-0 on the season as travels to Hughesville with the Varsity team for a non-league game this morning.
