JV Hornets Fall To Jersey Shore

The Wellsboro JV Baseball team fell 6-2 to Jersey Shore in their first game of the season on Saturday, March 29.

The Bulldogs scored all 6 runs prior the the Hornets adding their pair in the bottom of the sixth. Jersey Shore scored one in the 2nd, added two more in the 4th and then closed out with three runs in the 5th.

Sophomore Syler Pietrzyk and freshman Wyatt Sporer scored the Hornets' runs on the afternoon and two of the three hits in the game. Freshman Reed Richardson had Wellsboro's other hit and freshman Jake Starkweather added an RBI.

Pietrzyk and sophomore Izaya Campbell split time on the mound. Pietrzyk threw 4 & 2/3 innings, allowing 6 runs (3 earned) on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts. Campbell threw the remaining 2 & 1/3 innings, giving up 2 hits and striking out 3.

Wellsboro (0-1) is at Troy Friday afternoon for a stand-alone JV game.
