The Wellsboro Boys Track team brought home a third place finish at the NTL Track & Field Championships Friday afternoon in Athens.
The Hornets scored 86.5 points to finish behind Troy (137) and Athens (114). Wyalusing (71.5) was 4th followed by North Penn-Mansfield (67), Towanda (63), Northeast Bradford (57), Canton (40), Williamson (32), and Sayre (24).
Senior Alex Citrino finished 3rd in the 100m (12.15) and 8th in the 200m (25.03), freshman Brayden Benjamin (19.01) was 8th in the 110m hurdles, junior David Seeling (42.92) and senior Micah Vickery (44.33) were 2nd and 3rd in the 300m hurdles, and junior Aaron Kirk (55.59) was 8th in the 400m.
Junior Jude Cuneo (2:05.06) finished 3rd in the 800m, junior Henry Whitney (4:45.96) was 5th in the 1600m and 10th in the 3200m (11:10.99).
Seeling (5-ft, 8) was 4th in the high jump, senior Gabe Carpenter (11-ft) was 2nd in the pole vault, and senior Micaiah Fitch brought home 3rd place in both the long jump (19-ft, 1.5) and triple jump (39-ft, 6).
Senior Levi Stone (90-ft) was 20th in the discus, sophomore Jacob Smith (124-ft, 3) was 7th in the javelin, and freshman Ransom Schultz (32-ft, 9.5) finished 15th in the shot put.
Wellsboro finished 2nd in the 4x100m relay (46.34) and 4th in both the 4x400m (3:42.72) and the 4x800m (9:04.77).
The team is back in action at next week's District IV Championships at Williamsport on Thursday and Saturday.
