A pair of goals by senior Jacoby Strang lifted the Wellsboro Varsity Boys Soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Williamson on Senior Night.

"The boys battled for 80 minutes against a well coached and very good Williamson team," head coach Todd Fitch said. "A win on senior night during the week of homecoming, makes the result even sweeter."

After an early Williamson goal senior Jonathan Carl tied the game up at 1-all with 22:32 left in the first half off an assist from senior David Seeling. Ten minutes later Strang put the Hornets up 2-1 off an assist from senior Karter Campbell.

Williamson tied the game up before the first half came to an end, however Strang struck again, unassisted, with 17:58 remaining to push the Hornets back in front.

Both teams took 7 shots on goal and Williamson had a 3-1 edge in corner kicks.

Senior Camden Tom made 4 saves in goal.

The JV Hornets remained undefeated (14-0) after shutting out Williamson 4-0 to start the evening. Freshman Maddon Mascho scored the lone first-half goal, assisted by sophomore Xavier Lecker. Freshman Liam Stevens, Lecker, and sophomore Camden Bryant scored in the second half. Lecker assisted on Bryant's goal while freshman James Doughtie assisted on Stevens' goal.

Wellsboro (11-4-1, 9-2-1 NTL) host Montoursville Saturday afternoon.
