The Wellsboro Varsity Baseball team closed out their regular season riding a three-game win streak after a 17-0 shutout against Addison in three innings Tuesday.
"This was a good win to close out the regular season," head coach Kyle Smith said. "Once again, we had production up and down the lineup and the defense played solid behind Marek."
Wellsboro poured on the offense, scoring 8 runs in the 1st and 9 in the 2nd. This game was the Hornets' 4th game out of their last six where they've scored 15-plus runs.
The Hornets had eight hits in the game, led by sophomore Coen Tennis' 2-for-3 and 2-RBI performance at the plate. Senior Gabe Sprouse, junior Marek Mascho, senior Ryder Bowen, senior Dustin Owlett, junior Dylan Copp, and junior Cameron Owlett all had one hit each. Senior Alec Magli, Sprouse, Tennis, Bowen, Dustin Owlett, freshman Gabe Cuneo, sophomore Max Mascho, and Cameron Owlett scored twice on the day while Marek Mascho crossed home plate once.
Marek Mascho drove in four runs, Cameron Owlett had 3 RBIs, Tennis and Max Mascho drove in two runs, and Magli, Sprouse, Copp and Cuneo drove in single runs.
