Hornets Bring Home 3rd Place Finish At Tyoga

The Northern Tier League made their way to Tyoga Golf Course on Monday, with the host Hornets bringing home a 3rd place finish, improving a spot from their previous match.

Wellsboro shot a combined round of 341, finishing behind Towanda (322) and Athens (323).

North Penn-Mansfield was 5 strokes behind Wellsboro, shooting a 346 to finish 4th, Wyalusing (376) was 5th, Cowanesque Valley (386) came home 6th, Canton (405) finished 7th, and Sayre rounded out the field with a 554.

Junior Syler Pietrzyk led the Hornets with a round of 82, freshman Samuel Jackson shot 85, sophomore Chase Schultz carded an 86, and junior Mason Brill finished with an 88. Sophomore Logan Johnson and freshman Benjamin Jackson both had rounds of 91.

Wellsboro improves to 15-6 overall. They host Canton in a head-to-head match up back at Tyoga on Thursday afternoon.
