Wellsboro's Boys Cross Country team earned a 23-22 win over Cowanesque Valley but fell to North Penn-Mansfield and Northeast Bradford in an NTL quad meet in Westfield Tuesday afternoon.
Mansfield beat Wellsboro 19-36 and NEB won 15-45.
The Tigers also defeated CV 19-39. NEB swept the meet by also defeating CV 16-43 and Mansfield, 21-36.
Senior Henry Whitney led the Hornets with an 11th place finish in 20:22. Fellow senior Max Macias crossed the finish line directly behind Whitney in 12th in 20:23. Senior Ethan Geneski (21:20) finished 15th, senior Henry Nowak (21:25) was 17th, freshman Taitt Webster (22:23) was 19th, freshman Jesse Spicer (23:31) came home 22nd, freshman Austin DeShazo (25:16) was 26th, and sophomore Jack Hammerton (25:21) rounded out the field in 27th.
In the Junior High race the Hornets beat CV 17-38, Mansfield 19-36, and NEB, 27-28.
Wiley Sargent won the race in 9:55 while William Rudy (10:22) finished 4th. Lucas Crowl (10:25) was 5th and Emmett Tice (12:15) came home in 11th.
Whitney and Macias will take part in the Paul Short Invite at Lehigh University on Thursday.
