The Wellsboro Track & Field teams hit the road down to Lock Haven for a non-league meet with Central Mountain on Thursday, splitting wins against the Wildcats.
The Lady Hornets edged the Lady Wildcats, 72-69 while the boys fell 86-55.
For the girls sophomore Piper Hoprich (12.52) and freshman Luna Moyer (13.62) were 1st and 2nd in the 100m while Hoprich won the 200m in 26.54 with freshman Jennifer Belz (31.00) was 3rd. Freshman Isla Twoey (1:07.05) won the 400m, sophomore Lauren Kosek (2:30.60) won the 800m with freshman Molly Tice (3:22.66) finishing 3rd, freshmen Luisa Crocco (7:53.90) and Anja Przybycien (7:58.17) were 3rd and 4th in the 1600m, and Kosek (13:20.30) won the 3200m with senior Karah Blackwell (16:46.05) in 3rd.
Belz was 5th in the 100m hurdles (18.42) and 3rd in the 300m hurdles (54.68).
Wellsboro took two of the three relay events, winning the 4x100m (52.70) and the 4x400m (4:50.67). The 4x800m team finished 2nd in 13:11.74.
Senior Annie Gehman (4-ft, 8) won the high jump while juniors Olivia Gage and Kristina Belz tied for 2nd with jumps of 4-ft, 4. Gehman (14-ft, 3) tied for 1st in the long jump while Kristina Belz (13-ft, 5) and sophomore Ella Boyce (12-ft, 2) were 3rd and 4th, and Wellsboro swept the triple jump with Twoey (33-ft, 3), Gehman (32-ft, 3.25) and Boyce (28-ft) taking the top three spots.
Junior Addison Harlan (24-ft, 11.5) was 2nd in the shot put, freshman Katie Whitney (62-ft) was 3rd in the discus with freshman Aileen Bowers (61-ft) finishing 4th, and junior Taylor Main (86-ft, 4) and junior Rowan Butters (75-ft, 11) finishing 3rd and 4th in the javelin.
For the boys senior Jack Bryant (11.88) and juniors Jonathan Carl (12.05) and Jacoby Strang (12.20) swept the 100m, Bryant (24.46) and junior Aaron Kirk (25.24) were 1st and 3rd in the 200m, and Kirk took 4th in the 400m (58.38). Junior Jude Cuneo (2:18.13) won the 800m, junior Max Macias (4:57.43) won the 1600m with junior Henry Whitney (5:04.71) in 3rd, and Macias won the 3200m in 10:49.09.
Senior Micah Vickery (16.76) won the 110m hurdles and freshman Brayden Benjamin (50.85) was 5th in the 300m hurdles.
Wellsboro won the 4x100m (45.70), took 2nd in the 4x400m (3:57.40), and won the 4x800m (9:04.34).
Vickery (5-ft, 8) won the high jump with senior Emmanuel Posada (5-ft) in 3rd, senior Micaiah Fitch (18-ft, 9) was 3rd in the long jump, and Carl (38-ft, 9.25) was 2nd in the triple jump.
Freshman Ransom Schultz (31-ft, 9.5) was 5th in the shot put, senior Levi Stone (85-ft) was 5th in the discus, and sophomore Spencer Winters (91-ft, 6) was 7th in the javelin.
Both teams are back in action on Tuesday, April 1 at home against Williamson.
