Hornet Bocce Ball Team Edged Out By North Penn-Mansfield

The Wellsboro Bocce Ball team kicked off their season Tuesday afternoon, suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat against rival North Penn-Mansfield.
The Tigers doubled up the Hornets in the first game, winning 8-4 thanks to a four-point 5th frame. Wellsboro then rallied to win game number two, 12-2. After the score was tied 1-all after the 2nd frame the Hornets went on an 11-0 run, scoring 3 points in the 4th frame and 4 in the 5th to even the score at 1-all.
North Penn-Mansfield then captured the "Golden Frame," 1-0 for the win.
Wellsboro (0-1) will be back in action after the Christmas-New Year break, on January 5 against North Penn-Liberty.
