Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage Donates $5,000 to Wellsboro Baseball Program for Field Tarp

Wellsboro, PA – March 2025 – Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage, a Berkshire Hathaway Energy Company, recently donated $5,000 to the Wellsboro Baseball Program. This donation will be used to purchase a new field tarp to help maintain the quality of the baseball field and ensure the safety of players during inclement weather.

"We are incredibly grateful to Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage for their generous support," said Kyle Smith, Head Coach of the Wellsboro HS Baseball Team. "The field tarp will be a critical tool in protecting our field and allowing us to maintain playability during the unpredictable weather conditions we often face. This donation will help us continue to provide a great environment for our athletes to compete and grow."

The field tarp will help prevent delays or cancellations due to wet conditions and will ensure the field remains in top condition throughout the season. It will be used to cover the playing surface during rainstorms, protecting the infield from excessive moisture and allowing for quicker play after a rain delay.

The Wellsboro Baseball Program is committed to developing young athletes, providing them with the tools and support they need to succeed both on and off the field. The donation from Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage will play a key role in ensuring the program can continue to thrive and student-athletes have an opportunity to play baseball games.
