Wellsboro's Junior High Boys Basketball team swept the season series with rival North Penn-Mansfield, and won their fourth game in a row, as they defeated the Tigers 41-4 on Thursday, January 4.
The Hornets jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead after the first quarter and held the Tigers scoreless in the first half, as they led 22-0. All 4 of North Penn-Mansfield's points came in the 3rd quarter.
Ransom Schultz had a double-double, scoring a game-high 13 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Kody Enck and Griffin Morral scored 8 points apiece, Luke Szentesy added 6 points and 7 rebounds, RJ Doughtie scored 5 points, and James Doughtie rounded out the scoring with 3.
Morral added 5 rebounds and 5 steals, RJ Doughtie made 3 assists and 3 steals, and Reed Richardson grabbed 3 rebounds and blocked two shots. Schultz (2) and Enck also blocked shots.
Wellsboro won the B game 35-10. Keegan VanZile scored 20 points, Connor Hartman pitched in 6 points off the bench, Maddon Mascho scored 3, and Lane Cozby, Blake Knowlton, and Bryce Wilson all scored 2 points each.
