Wellsboro's Junior High Soccer team improved to 9-1 on the season, and won their 5th straight game, following a 9-1 win over North Penn-Liberty on Wednesday, October 2.
"Seven different players scored tonight, this only happens when a team is clicking like we are and always moving the ball aggressively," said head coach Derek Stevens. "We couldn't be more proud of the effort and teamwork that is displayed on the field, these players love every minute of the game."
The young Hornets scored six times in the first half on goals by Gage Baltzley, Callen Novak, Liam Stevens, Haylie Smith, Cody Tomlinson, and Jackson Largey.
Baltzley, James Doughtie, and Stevens added Wellsboro's second half goals.
Stevens, Doughtie, Novak, and Maddon Mascho added assists.
North Penn-Liberty's goal came on a penalty kick in the first half.
Wellsboro out shot North Penn-Liberty 16-3 on the afternoon.
Benjamin Jackson and Braydyn Lehman made 1 save each in goal.
The team is back in action on Monday at Northeast Bradford.
