Wellsboro concluded the Junior High track & field season by sweeping the NTL Championships on Tuesday, May 7.
The young Lady Hornets defended their 2023 league championship by running away from the competition, scoring 162 points. Towanda finished 2nd with 75, Athens was 3rd with 59, Wyalusing (54) took 4th, North Penn-Mansfield (53) was 5th, Williamson (41) was 6th, Canton (29) finished 7th, Troy (18) was 8th, and Northeast Bradford (6) was 9th.
In the boys race, Wellsboro won with 133 points, Troy scored 77 to finish 2nd, Athens took 3rd with 74 points, and North Penn-Mansfield finished 4th with 73.5 points. Towanda (50.5) was 5th, Williamson (46) was 6th, Wyalusing (42) took home 7th, and Northeast Bradford (9) rounded out the field in 8th.
For the girls, Dillyn Patt (14.05) and Luna Moyer (14.06) were 3rd & 4th in the 100m, Piper Perry (29.75) was 3rd in the 200m, Olive Twoey (1:10.92) and Bella Hawn (1:11.46) were 2nd and 3rd in the 400m, Kaci Kosek (2:53.40) was 5th in the 800m and 7th in the 1600m (6:29.29), and Jennifer Belz (17.68) and Twoey (18.35) were 1st and 2nd in the 100m hurdles.
Wellsboro swept both relays, winning the 4x100m in 55.56 and the 4x400m in 4:59.87.
Lauren Gehman swept the jumping events. She won the high jump at 4-ft, 8, the long jump (15-ft, 1.75) and the triple jump (29-ft, 11.75). Isla Twoey (28-ft, 5) and June Roth (27-ft, 10) were also 2nd and 3rd in the triple jump.
Serenity Mosher (24-ft, 1) finished 10th in the shot put and Kaydence Pierce (66-ft, 5) was 2nd in the discus.
For the boys, Xavier Lecker (12.44) finished 2nd in the 100m and 2nd in the 200m (25.75), Austin DeShazo (1:09.51) was 10th in the 400m, Fen Moyer (2:35.54) was 6th in the 800m, Taitt Webster (6:10.14) was 16th in the 1600m, and Liam Stevens (16.53) and Brayden Benjamin (17.57) were 1-2 in the 100m hurdles.
Wellsboro won the 4x100m relay (50.28) and finished 2nd in the 4x400m (4:25.69).
Octavian Wyman (5-ft) and Stevens (5-ft) finished 2nd and 4th in the high jump, Stevens (17-ft, 9.5) and Wyman (17-ft) went 1-2 in the long jump, and Ransom Schultz (33-ft, 7) and Benjamin (32-ft, 9.5) swept the triple jump.
Schultz (34-ft, 3.5) and Conlen Whitsell (33-ft, 4) were 3rd and 4th in the shot put and Whitsell (110-ft) took 3rd in the discus.
