Williamsport swept Wellsboro 3-0 in non-league volleyball action on Saturday, September 14.
The loss was the Lady Hornets' first of the season after starting out 6-0.
"We had a tough loss. We came out slow and had a hard time coming back from it," said head coach Darci Pollock. "Williamsport moved the ball well and had strong hitters. We played with a new line up and made the most of it. We will be back at it on Monday with more focus and energy."
Williamsport won the first set 25-13, took the second 25-21, then ended the match with a 25-20.
Junior Taylor Main had 10 points (3 aces), 7 digs and 3 assists, freshman Peyton Keane scored 5 points (aces) and sophomore Ellie Largey had 3 points (2 aces) and 2 assists. Senior Paige Logsdon had 2 kills and 3 blocks, sophomore Blake Eckart recorded 2 kills and made 8 digs, and sophomore Madison Cruttenden had 20 digs.
Freshman Adelyn Frantz also recorded a block.
Williamsport won the JV game 2-1. Wellsboro won the first set 25-23 before Williamsport rallied to win the second 25-11 and the third, 15-13.
Wellsboro (6-1, 5-0 NTL Large School Division) travels to Hughesville on Monday.
