Smith, Mascho Named To NTL Baseball All-Star Team

Senior Caden Smith and sophomore Marek Mascho were named to the NTL Baseball All-Star team on Thursday, June 13.

Both were first team selections.

Smith led the Hornets with 25 hits and 4 doubles with a .362 average and a .420 slugging percentage. He also had 24 put outs and 32 assists in the field (.903) and was 4-1 on the mound with 9 strikeouts over 27 and 1/3 innings.

Mascho was second on the team with 21 hits to go along with 3 doubles, 7 RBIs while hitting .350. He was 2-for-3 on the mound with 21 strikeouts and a 2.90 ERA in 41 innings.

Both led the team with 18 runs scored.

"Caden and Marek both had solid baseball seasons and the post-season recognition is a testament to their consistency and contributions throughout the season," head coach Kyle Smith said. "They both performed admirably offensively and defensively and formed a nice 1-2 tandem at the top of our pitching rotation as well. We are proud of their efforts! Hopefully this is just the beginning of post-season recognition for the group of players returning."
