The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team brought home the Kane Volleyball Tournament Championship on Saturday, October 5.
"We had a great experience at the Kane tournament this year," head coach Darci Pollock said. "Our team worked together to improve our skills and energy. Our captains displayed phenomenal leadership to help our team to the championship. The defense was a key factor in the wins today. The tournament is a huge milestone for our season as we are nearing the end and districts is approaching. I'm so proud of this team and what they have already accomplished this season."
Wellsboro started out the day with a 2-0 (25-21, 25-12) win over Johnsonburg, then a 2-0 (25-13, 25-20) win against North Clarion. They defeated Oswayo Valley 2-0 (25-16, 25-22) in their 3rd match, then split with St. Marys 1-1 (25-15, 20-25).
The Lady Hornets won their semi-final match with Otto-Eldred, 25-16, to advance to the final to face off with Clarion-Limestone. Wellsboro defeated the Lady Lions 30-24.
Wellsboro returns to league play Tuesday night as they travel to face undefeated Northeast Bradford.
