Wellsboro's Varsity Volleyball team swept Towanda to improve to 9-2 on the season on Tuesday, September 24.
Wellsboro also won the JV match 2-0 (25-13, 25-20) to move to 8-3.
The Lady Hornets won the first set 25-15 and held on for a 25-22 win in the second set. Towanda took Wellsboro to bonus points in the third, but Wellsboro held on for the 28-26 win.
Senior Lexi Urena led Wellsboro with 14 points (9 aces), 11 digs and 4 kills while sophomore Madison Cruttenden had 13 digs and 10 points (3 digs). Senior Paige Logsdon had 6 kills, sophomore Ellie Largey had 14 assists, and junior Taylor Main had 11 digs and 7 assists.
Sophomore Blake Eckart added 5 kills and 6 points. Junior Brooke Wheeler also had 4 kills and 2 assisted blocks.
Wellsboro (9-2, 6-1 NTL Large School Division) hosts rival North Penn-Liberty on Thursday.
