Lady Hornets Sweep Towanda To Cap Regular Season

Wellsboro swept Towanda 3-0 to finish off their regular season 16-4 overall and 2nd place in the NTL Large School Division (12-2).

Wellsboro also won the JV game 2-1 (25-18, 20-25, 15-11) to finish their season with a 16-4 record.

The Lady Hornets took the first set of the Varsity game 25-20, won the 2nd 25-13, and closed out the contest with a 25-16 third set victory.

Senior Paige Logsdon led Wellsboro with 9 kills and 11 points (3 aces), junior Taylor Main scored 14 points and made 6 assists, senior Lexi Urena made 8 kills and 5 digs, and sophomore Blake Eckart had 6 kills and 8 points.

Sophomore Madison Cruttenden had 14 digs and sophomore Ellie Largey had 6 assists and 4 digs. Urena, junior Brooke Wheeler, and freshman Adelyn Frantz all added blocks.

Next up for Wellsboro is the District IV Class 2A playoffs, which start this weekend.
