The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team remained perfect to start the season by sweeping Sayre on Thursday, August 29.
The Lady Hornets controlled the first set, winning easily, 25-9, then won the second and third sets, 25-17 and 25-18.
Wellsboro also swept the JV game, winning 2-0 (25-16, 25-7) to improve to 2-0 as well.
Junior Taylor Main had 15 points and 5 aces, while adding 7 digs, to lead Wellsboro on the evening. Senior Paige Logsdon added 13 points (7 aces) and 5 kills, senior Lexi Urena had 8 digs and 5 kills, sophomore Ellie Largey had 7 assists, sophomore Blake Eckart recorded 6 kills, and sophomore Madison Cruttenden made 11 digs and scored 9 points (6 aces).
The Lady Hornets return to play on Tuesday, September 3 at South Williamsport.
