The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team improved to 3-0 to start the season after defeating South Williamsport 3-1 in non-league action on Tuesday, September 3.
The Lady Hornets opened up Tuesday's game with a 25-19 win in the first set, however South rallied to win 25-18 in the second to tie it up. Wellsboro then took over, winning the 3rd set 25-12 and the 4th 25-11 to pick up the win.
Wellsboro also won the JV game 2-0 (25-3, 25-10) to improve to 3-0 on the season as well.
Senior Paige Logsdon had 13 points (5 aces), 11 kills, 2 assists and 2 blocks to lead the Lady Hornets while sophomore Ellie Largey had 18 points and an ace. She also recorded 10 assists.
Senior Lexi Urena recorded 13 digs and made 8 kills, junior Taylor Main had 12 assists, sophomore Blake Eckart had 5 kills and 9 digs, junior Alyssa Chilson made 2 blocks, and sophomore Madison Cruttenden made 24 digs and scored 13 points (3 aces).
Wellsboro (3-0, 2-0 NTL Large School Division) hosts Wyalusing on Thursday.
