The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Basketball team suffered their second loss of the season, falling 41-22 in non-league action to Coudersport on Monday.
The Lady Hornets struggled offensively, making just seven shots from the floor.
Coudersport jumped out to a 14-6 lead after the opening quarter then held Wellsboro to just four points in the 2nd quarter, to take a 20-10 lead into halftime. The Lady Falcons outscored the Lady Hornets 21-12 over the final 16 minutes.
Freshman Adelyn Frantz led Wellsboro with 7 points while senior Chloe Brandenburg added 6 points. Senior Paige Logsdon, junior Lily Wagner, and freshmen Teagan Novinger and Rylee Coolidge all scored two points each, and freshman Kate Bryant rounded out the scoring with a point.
Coudersport also won the JV game 42-20. Novinger and junior Sophia Yoder scored 7 points apiece to lead Wellsboro.
The loss drops Wellsboro to 3-2 (1-1 NTL Large School Division). The team is back on the court Friday against rival North Penn-Mansfield.
