Wellsboro's JV Baseball team improved to 3-0 after sweeping a doubleheader with Wyalusing on Monday, April 1.
The Hornets took the first game 9-4 and the second 14-8.
In game one sophomore Dylan Copp led the Hornets at the plate, going 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 4 stolen bases. Freshman Nathan Love was 1-for-1 at stole a base, freshmen Max Mascho and Syler Pietrzyk were both 1-for-2, junior Dustin Owlett and sophomore Jacob Heckman were both 1-for-3. Mascho scored 2 runs and stole 2 bases, Owlett scored a run and drove in two, and Pietrzyk tripled scored a run and drove in 3 runs.
Freshman Coen Tennis walked twice and scored a run and sophomore Drayden McGee scored a pair of runs.
Junior Lucas Cuneo, Owlett, and freshman Izaya Campbell split time on the mound, allowing 4 hits, 8 strikeouts, and 6 walks.
In the second game Copp was 1-for-1 with an RBI, Mascho was 1-for-1 with a run and RBI, and sophomore Cameron Owlett, Pietrzyk and Love were both 1-for-2 at the plate. Cameron Owlett tripled, scored two runs and drove in 3 runs, freshman Evan Parshall had a hit and scored a run, freshman Braxton Kerr scored a pair of runs, Campbell scored a run, and Tennis scored two runs.
Copp and Heckman combined for 7 strikeouts, 1 hit, and 9 walks.
Wellsboro hosts rival North Penn-Mansfield on April 10.
