Hornets Shut Out Galeton, 12-0

The Wellsboro Boys Soccer team went on the offensive, scoring 12 goals to shut out Galeton on Wednesday, August 28.

"We were happy to have everyone healthy and back on the field tonight," head coach Todd Fitch said. "It was a great team effort!"

The Hornets scored 7 first-half goals then added 5 more in the second half. Seniors Alex Citrino and Micaiah Fitch both recorded hat tricks on the evening while senior Lucas Cuneo and juniors Mason Nowak and David Seeling all scored a pair of goals.

Junior Camden Tom and sophomore Kayden Rogers combined for six saves, with Tom recording 4 of them.

Wellsboro out shot the Tigers 19-6 and had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Wellsboro also pulled out a shut out in the JV game, winning 3-0. Sophomore Dylan Tomlinson scored a pair of goals and Jacob Smith added the third. Sophomore Zander Rachiele assisted on Tomlinson's first goal, freshman Ransom Schultz assisted on his second, and freshman Octavian Wyman assisted on Smith's goal.

Wellsboro improves to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the NTL. The team is back in action on Saturday against South Williamsport in a non-league game.
