Wellsboro's Boys Soccer team shut out Towanda 8-0 on Saturday to remain undefeated (9-0) in the NTL.
There was no JV game.
"The boys put together a very solid performance right from the start," head coach Todd Fitch said. "Defensively, they were organized, kept pressure on the ball, and kept a clean sheet. In possession, they kept the ball moving with pace all across the field and capitalized on goal scoring opportunities they created, including a few corner kicks. A good game to end the week."
Senior Lucas Cuneo and junior David Seeling both recorded hat tricks in the game while senior Micaiah Fitch also added a pair of goals.
Cuneo struck first just over four and a half minutes into the game off a pass from senior River Moyer. Seeling later struck with 20:31 remaining, assisted by senior Alex Citrino, Cuneo then completed his hat trick by scoring the next two Hornet goals. His second came with 8:58 remaining in the first half, assisted by senior Jack Bryant, the second was the first of Wellsboro's five 2nd half goals with 16:54 left to play, assisted by Fitch.
Now leading 4-0, Seeling and Fitch took turns scoring to close out the game. Seeling's 2nd goal was assisted by Fitch with 14:45 remaining. Fitch then scored unassisted with 6:47 left to play. Seeling capped his hat trick on a head after a Citrino corner kick with 5:35 to go.
Fitch scored the game's final goal with 20 seconds left.
