Senior Hayes Campbell reached a career milestone as he grabbed his 500th rebound in a 63-35 loss to Loyalsock on Saturday, February 10.
Campbell recorded 10 rebounds to go with his team-high 17 points for his 8th career double-double.
Loyalsock jumped out to a 26-4 lead after the first quarter came to a close then outscored the Hornets 14-10 in the 2nd and 16-12 in the 3rd. Wellsboro outscored Loyalsock 9-7 in the final quarter.
Senior Ian Hoose added 8 points, junior Mitchel Lechler finished with 4 points and seniors Caden Smith and Isaac Macias, and sophomore Jonathan Carl all had 2 points apiece.
Smith had 3 rebounds and 4 assists, Hoose added 7 boards and an assist, sophomore Luke Rothermel made 4 assists and a steal, and sophomore Marek Mascho made 2 assists.
Isaiah Jennings led the Lancers with 15 points.
Loyalsock won the JV game 65-46. Freshman Ethan Keane led Wellsboro with 12 points and freshman Max Mascho added 9.
The loss drops the Hornets to 12-8. The team travels to Benton tomorrow for a non-league game.
