Troy Tops Wellsboro, 3-1

The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team fell 3-1 to Troy in NTL Large School Division play on Tuesday, October 10.

The Lady Hornets opened the game winning the first set 25-19, however the Lady Trojans took set two 28-26. Troy then went on to win the third set 25-16 and the fourth 25-8.

Senior Meredith Brownlee led Wellsboro with 12 points, 1 ace and 10 kills, junior Lexi Urena had 8 digs and 6 kills, sophomore Taylor Main had 6 assists, freshman Blake Eckart had 6 points and two aces, and junior Arianah Lawton recorded 6 digs.

Wellsboro won the JV game 2-0, winning 25-21 and 25-11 to improve to 11-4.

The loss in the Varsity game drops the Lady Hornets' record to 9-7 (7-4 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action next Monday at Towanda.
