Stevens Hat Trick Leads Junior High Soccer Team Over Wyalusing

The Wellsboro Junior High Soccer team scored three goals in the first half and three in the second half to defeat Wyalusing 6-1 on Saturday, September 23.

"The game was fun and competitive throughout," head coach Derek Stevens said. "We finished the ball really well today."

Liam Stevens opened the game at 3:01 with his first goal of the match from an assist from Xavier Lecker. He later followed it up by finishing a volley from Lauren Gehman at 6:27 to make it 2-0 in favor of the young Hornets. Gabe Cuneo added a goal from 30 yards to close out the first half.

Xavier Lecker crossed in a ball for Gehman to open the 2nd half, followed by Michael Seeling scored from an assist from Gabe Cuneo. With 10:12 remaining in the game, Liam Stevens scored from an assist from Gabe Cuneo to complete his hat trick.

Wellsboro improves to 7-0 following the win, and is back in action tomorrow afternoon against Northeast Bradford.
