Lady Hornets Fall 8-0 Troy In Opener

The Wellsboro Varsity Girls Soccer team suffered an 8-0 loss to Troy in their season opener on Wednesday, August 30.

Troy scored three goals in the first half and five in the second, including an own goal by Wellsboro, while they held the Lady Hornets to just two shot attempts on the day, one by junior Carys Barlett and one by senior Maddy Mascho.

Junior Annie Gehman stopped 14 of Troy's 21 shots on goal.

The loss starts Wellsboro out at 0-1 (0-1 NTL). The team is back in action at Hughesville on Saturday.
