The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team was swept by Loyalsock in three highly competitive sets on Thursday, October 19.
The Lady Lancers edged the Lady Hornets 25-23 in the opening set then won 25-19 in the second and 25-17 in the third.
Senior Natalie Cleveland led Wellsboro with 15 digs while junior Lexi Urena had 7 points (3 aces), 3 kills, a block and 7 digs, senior Meredith Brownlee finished with 5 kills, and junior Arianah Lawton had 9 assists. Sophomore Taylor Main had 8 assists, 5 points and an ace, freshman Blake Eckart scored 5 points (1 ace), and junior Paige Logsdon assisted on 2 blocks.
Loyalsock also won the JV game, 2-1. After Wellsboro won the opening set 25-18 the Lancers stormed back to win 25-23 and 15-2.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 10-9 overall. The team is back in action next Tuesday at Athens in their final regular season game.
