The Wellsboro Varsity Volleyball team won their second straight NTL contest after defeating Williamson 3-1 on Tuesday, September 5.
The Lady Hornets took a 2-0 set lead winning 25-17 and 25-21, however Williamson rallied to win the third set 25-17 to extend the match. Wellsboro took the 4th set 25-17 to win the match.
Senior Meredith Brownlee led Wellsboro with 14 points, 8 kills, and 13 digs. Senior Natalie Cleveland scored 12 points and recorded 17 digs and 2 assists, senior Olivia Chilson had 4 kills, junior Arianah Lawton scored 6 points to go with 12 digs and 2 assists, junior Lexi Urena had 9 kills, 5 digs and six points, and freshman Blake Eckart had 3 kills and scored 3 points.
Williamson won the JV game 2-0 (26-24 & 25-22) to drop the Lady Hornets to 2-1.
The win improves the Lady Hornets to 2-1 (2-1 NTL Large School Division). The team is back in action on Saturday at South Williamsport.
