The Wellsboro Junior High Soccer team improved to 8-0 by shutting out Northeast Bradford 8-0 on Tuesday, September 26.
"We executed exceptionally tonight from our communication on the field, finding space, and crisp passes," head coach Derek Stevens said. "These players always find a way to improve every game we play."
Liam Stevens opened the scoring with a shot from 25 yards at 1:45, then followed it up with his second goal at 2:49 to give the Hornets a quick 2-0 lead. Gabe Cuneo, Octavian Wyman, and Bradyn Benjamin, off from a cross from Luna Moyer, all scored goals to push the Hornets' lead to 5-0. Benjamin added another goal from an assist by Hailey Smith to make it 6-0, then James Doughtie scored off a rebound from a shot from Hailey Smith to give Wellsboro a 7-0 lead after the first half.
In the second half Rylee Coolidge ended the night on a through ball from Liam Stevens.
Ransom Schultz made 2 saves in goal to preserve the shut out.
The Hornets face off against North Penn-Liberty on Saturday.
