The Wellsboro Junior High Boys Basketball team finished their 2022-23 season on Saturday, January 7 at the Northeast Bradford Tournament.
Wellsboro went 2-1 on the day.
The Hornets dropped their first game against Susquehanna Community, 21-16. Ethan Keane had 7 points, Max Mascho added 6, Griffin Morral finished with 2 points and Ransom Schultz rounded out the scoring with a point.
Wellsboro then rallied to defeat two NTL opponents, Wyalusing and Troy. Wellsboro beat the Rams 36-21 then avenged an earlier season loss to the Trojans with a 31-19 win to finish the day.
Against Wyaluinsg, Keagan Spaar led the team with 10 points, Schultz finished with 9, Keane added 5, Mascho and Colin Fletcher scored 4 points each, and Morral and RJ Doughtie added 2 points each.
Against Troy, Keane got off to a hot start, outscoring the Trojans 7-2 to finish with a game-high 13 points. Gideon Lawton and Morral scored 4 points each, Schultz and Spaar finished with 3 points each, and Mascho and Luke Szentesy added 2 points each.
Keane was also named to the All-Tournament team.
The Hornets finish their season with a 15-3 record.
